🌆 Thrilled to share that our CEO and Founding Partners, Gwenola Chambon, recently participated in the panel "Designing the Cities of the Future" at Les Rencontres d'Aix, alongside Laurent Germain (EGIS), Jérôme Stubler (Equans), Pierre Pauliac (Suez) and Srinivas Chokkakula (Center for Policy Research in India). The discussion explored how —since Aristote’s time— economics has involved rethinking the organization of life in the city. Today, architects, urban planners, geographers, economists, and policymakers must join forces to reinvent urban environments, especially as large metropolises face rising inequalities, the high cost of land, and the risk of social fragmentation. During the panel, Gwenola emphasized that infrastructure investment is essential for making cities more livable and inclusive. This resonates closely with our annual research, conducted with the InfraVision Think Tank For Sustainable Infrastructure, which this year is dedicated to the Cities of Tomorrow. We’re excited to reveal the findings at our annual event on November 4th during InfraWeek - stay tuned. A warm thank you to Le Cercle des économistes for hosting such an inspiring and impactful event. 🎤 Last week, Vauban Infrastructure Partners was delighted to welcome 60+ investors, 15+ guest speakers and 40+ CEOs of our portfolio companies during Vauban Infrastructure Partners' 2025 Annual Investors' Days and CEO days in Barcelona. Our agenda covered a wide range of topics, including recent developments of the European infrastructure market, stressing out that Europe remains a global anchor for long-duration, low-volatility infrastructure investments — backed by predictable regulation, ESG alignment, and long-term policy visibility. End of 2024, 40% of #InstitutionalInvestors worldwide declared to be under-allocated to #Infrastructure. We concluded that the inherent features such as inflation correlation, GDP decorrelation as well as stability and the pricing dynamics make European #MidMarket infrastructure more attractive than ever. We also had the pleasure of welcoming our portfolio companies which has allowed us to engage in deep dives across our portfolio. In addition, we were honored to have several experts with us, including: - Dario Nardella, Member of the European Parliament, S&D Coordinator of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) ; - Manel Nadal i Farreras, Secretary of Mobility and Infrastructures of the Department of Territory, Housing and Transition, Goverment of Catalonia and President of the BARDC ; - Eva Gimenez i Corrons, Secretària General del Departament de la Presidència ; - Jonatan Calafi Guaschí Guasch, Oficina tècnica de colaboración público privada de Mobilitat del Departament de Territori ; - Ernest Salarichs CEO of CEAL9, Line 9 of Metro de Barcelona ; - Jordi Julià, Director General of Infraestructures Ferroviàries de Catalunya (IFERCAT) (Railway Infrastructures of Catalonia) ; - The Salmon Consulting and Batoul Hassoun to discuss "Black Swans & Grey Rhino" with a special guest, Michele Wucker, best-selling author and educator specialized in risk governance and global economic policy. Her four books include the influential global bestseller, THE GRAY RHINO ; - Camilo Andrés Ulloa Ariza, Principal Economist for the Spain & Portugal unit at BBVA España ; - Yves Lederer (CEO of Groupe Coriance) and Fernando Lozano Ruiz (CEO of Metro de Málaga) & Peter Haupt (CEO of Optimus Tower Austria). Thank you to all the attendees and speakers. It was great to reconnect with so many of our investors in Spain! We have captured some highlights from the day below 👇
